Re: [madwifi-project.org] #2370: Compile error with kernel 2.6.31

Leonardo Crochik
Is there any perspective of fixing this bug? I was waiting for that in
orther to get my wifi working... Or do you have any sugestions of
installing the driver from a deb package or from any other source?

Thanks in advance

Fixed now.

I don't think you can take a MadWifi package (or any package with kernel
modules) from one distro and use it in another one unless they use
exactly the same kernel version.

https://madwifi-project.org/ticket/2375 suggests that the issue still exists.

That kernel removed init_MUTEX for some reason, perhaps to avoid
confusion between semaphores and mutexes.

I would not normally go out of the way to placate a heavily patched
kernel, but in this case, the necessary change was rather simple and
made the code easier to understand, so it has been committed.
